Dr. Samuel Montalvo is a Research Fellow in Cardiovascular Medicine at Stanford University. Supported by Wu Tsai Human Performance Alliance and T32 Myocardial Biology fellowships, he merges biomechanics, clinical exercise physiology, and multi-omics to uncover the molecular drivers of human performance. At Stanford’s Bioinformatics Core he leads analyses for the NIH-funded Molecular Transducers of Physical Activity (MoTrPAC) project and partners on studies in sports ECG, cardiopulmonary exercise testing, neuromuscular disease, and elite athletics. A certified Performance & Sport Scientist (CPSS) and Strength & Conditioning Specialist with Distinction (CSCS,*D), Dr. Montalvo also competes for Mexico’s national Wushu team and directs an international Wushu research consortium. His vision is to integrate martial arts—including taiji—into holistic, evidence-based exercise-as-medicine programs.
