Li Shudong – Biography
Dr. Li Shudong is an internationally recognized leader in the promotion of martial arts, wellness Taiji, and health Qigong. He has worked extensively with research teams at Stanford University on U.S. national-level scientific studies focused on Taiji for health, and he pioneered a credited Medical Taiji course at Stanford School of Medicine.
As a chief organizer of major international forums and competitions, Dr. Li has led the International Taiji Science Forum, the World Intangible Cultural Heritage Taiji Showcase, and the Stanford Silicon Valley Health Forum. He has also played leading roles in organizing the Harvard Conference on Taiji and Mind-Body Health, the International Integrative Medicine Forum at the American International University of Medicine, and the D’Youville University International Medical Taiji & Qigong Conference. Additionally, he has supported numerous events such as the U.S. National Wushu Trials and intercollegiate martial arts championships.
Dr. Li has served as chairman or key organizer for world-class martial arts events, including the Pan American Wushu Championships, Pan American Traditional Wushu Championships, Golden State International Wushu Championships, U.S. National Wushu Championships, and the U.S. National Team Trials. As team leader and coach of the U.S. National Wushu Team, he has led delegations to prestigious international events such as the World Wushu Championships, World Taijiquan Championships, and the SportAccord World Combat Games.
Formerly the Vice President of the International Health Qigong Federation, Dr. Li is currently a member of the IWUF Kung Fu Committee and is widely recognized as a leading representative of Chen-style Taijiquan in the United States.
